How did you figure out that art is your passion?
I love art ever since I was a kid. I remember my mom used to buy me a pencil and sketch pad because I was always drawing. My subjects for drawings are icons in my country, later on, cartoons and anime. I decided then that I wanted to be an artist because I am so happy when I draw. Even now I still feel like the kid drawing years ago 🙂
What is your favorite artwork?
That is actually hard to answer but I think it’s the art that shapes who I am and made a significant impact on my life personally. I remember going on a drawing class with a bunch of adults, I was the youngest one in the class around 3 yrs old among 7-year-old kids, where I started to learn about controlling the hand. Our teacher was an old master painter who teaches kids for free. I remember this one exercise of just drawing loops and practicing to make it consistent. If I would ever pick one, it would be that one because it jumpstarts everything I am doing in art today. It was a great lesson too now that I think about it.
Is there something that you dislike about the world of art?
Hmm. I think part of art is expression and freedom. I don’t like it when people judge other people by their own definition of beautiful art making the other one inferior to others thus hurting the other one. There may be art that looks good and made a positive impact on me and some on others.
I would love to see people respect and support each other.
And the last question. What is the goal that you want to achieve this year?
This year my goal improve myself which is generally my goal every year. I can’t control what will happen at the end of the year or tomorrow but I can control what I do, what I think and sharpen it. I am always trying to learn something new day by day, little by little.
